Kindness From
home

While we can't bake for outside our bubbles we want to provide ways for people

to feel connected while physically apart

Join in our #KindnessFromHome activities for a bit of distraction, fun, company and connection. This form of kindness includes being kind to yourself - the best form of kindness for your community right now is to stay home, but if you want more than that look through the list below and see what grabs your interest.

tales with grant

One of our Kindness Ambassadors, Grant Shimmin, has been writing a tale he's offered to share as part of our kindness from home programme. 'The Pinetree Peacekeepers' is a story suitable for 8-13 year olds, and tells a tale about two elves living in a pinetree. Grant will read a chapter-a-day via Facebook Live, starting Monday 20 April 3.30pm, for two weeks  (Mon - Fri only).

Join the Facebook group to listen in and be part of the conversation - don't worry if you miss a day, the live reading will post in the group so you'll be able to catch up.

story time

Having a story read to you can provide comfort, no matter your age. Join us Sundays at 7pm, to have a story read out loud to you. Different authors, different books, family friends for about 7yrs+.

These will often be hosted on Zoom, where there is a limit to the number of people who can join in, so don't be late.

April 5: Tessa Duder
April 12: Bridget Mahy

April 19: Melinda Szymanik

Kindness Kitchen

While GBB can’t bake for others at the moment like we normally do, we want to spread kindness in other ways. As part of our kindness from home activities to keep NZs spirits up we want to teach your kids some baking skills and provide some connection with others.

Each Thursday 11am, join the lovely GB, Mary, to bake a batch of deliciousness that you can share within your bubble. Roll up your sleeves, wash your hands, and get ready for some fun!

movie nights

Join us to watch some feel good movies each Saturday night during #StayAtHomeNZ. Grab some snacks, get comfy, and chat with others watching - together while apart.
